These are some of my favourite recipes for you to savour. They come from years working as a chef, time spent at the kitchen bench raising my kids and meals shared with family and friends for Jewish holidays like Rosh Hashana and Passover.
The illustrations are by my daughter Ruby, who, ever since she was very little, has been magically creating a whole host of quirky characters.
For each recipe, I’ve suggested music and drinks as extra ingredients, if you will.
This recipe book has been on the boil for a while, but I present it to you now in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. I hope that the aromas and tastes provide comfort and sanctuary until we can all fress* on a sumptuous meal with loved ones, gathered together from near and far to eat, drink, dance and be merry.
*Fress is the Yiddish word meaning to eat or nosh, often or in large quantities.
